Dr Jacinta Mwende Maweu was a speaker at the 17th annual Highway Africa as part of a panel discussion on media, politics and accountability today. She served on the panel alongside Professor Shakuntala Rao and Amadou Mahtar Ba. The discussion was chaired by Jovial Rantao, editor of The Sunday Tribune in South Africa. Maweu has a PhD in media Ethics and the Political Economy from Rhodes University, and is currently a lecturer of Media Studies at the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
